Coffee, Books, and More
by Lynn Cahoon, Author

Hey neighbor! Latte’ Da! is now on my list of must visit coffee shops. I’m over on the west side of Illinois, where the Mississippi river melds Illinois with Missouri. Thanks for having me over today for my blog tour for Killer Run.

Killer Run is the fifth book in the Tourist Trap series and I always laugh when I get reviews that say, “Jill drinks way more coffee than a normal person.”

I think their version of normal and mine are different. I LOVE coffee. I love the smell, the taste, and the jolt it gives me to get my work done when I need it. It’s my morning go to drink before I switch over to sparkling water. (Yes, I’m a diva author.)

But I wasn’t always a coffee fan. When I started my first professional job, the group would go to a local diner for a coffee break. When they all ordered coffee, and I ordered a Coke, I felt like a kid rather than one of the gang. So I started drinking coffee on our breaks. (Yes, I was also that girl that would smoke because others did. Luckily, I was able to give up the smoking easily, but the coffee habit stuck.)

I tried drinking it with sugar or cream, but found I really enjoyed the flavor of coffee alone. Nowadays you may find me doing a skinny mocha or grabbing a flavored coffee for variety, but mostly, I like it black. Simple, unadorned, but magnificent. Kind of like me. My favorite ice cream flavor? Vanilla.

Anyway, it didn’t surprise me when I started writing the Tourist Trap mysteries three years ago that my protagonist would own a coffee shop/bookstore combination. It’s my dream small business. Jill left the stress of a position with a corporate law firm to open her shop. It’s a decision she’s never regretted.

Now, I know running a coffee shop isn’t always fun and games. Which brings the rest of the South Cove gang into the picture including Aunt Jackie who came in the first book to run the shop to help and hasn’t left. She and the rest of the gang make my trips into South Cove fun as you never know what’s going to happen next.

So gang, hard question – What’s your favorite coffee drink?
